Sergey Lavrov supported the initiative to include the "People of Artek" International Contest in the "Friends' Club of Russia" program

“Following the results of the preliminary study with Andrey Arkadievich Klimov, I propose to hold the Artek People International Action in 2023 within the framework of the Friends' Club of Russia program, timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Artek International Children’s Center,” suggested Roman Romanov during the meeting of the Commission of "United Russia" for international cooperation.
The main element of the action will be the "People of Artek" competition for foreign students aged 12-17 from March 16 to August 5, 2023. Participants will need to conduct research about the people in the country of the contestant who have ever been to Artek and the role of Artek in their destiny. The result of the research will need to be presented during the Artek lessons, which the participant will conduct in their educational organization, as well as in social networks in the form of publications and videos.
The winners of the regional stage of the competition will receive diplomas and gifts, and the winners of the international stage will receive an invitation to visit ICC Artek in the summer of 2023 and take part in the International Children's Summit "Friends' club of Russia", which is proposed to be held in Artek in the summer.
“We highly appreciate the youth projects of United Russia, among which I would like to mention the Artek People international campaign, which is aimed at strengthening the connection between the children of our compatriots and their historical homeland. The most important initiative, especially in modern conditions, when they are trying to fragment the Russian world and reduce the value of the contribution that the Russian world has made to the development of mankind,” said Sergey Lavrov.
The solemn start of the action is proposed to be held in the form of a videoconferencing in March 2023, which will present the presentation of the international contest "People of Artek" and materials for the Contest.
