Artek students visited Chersonesos Tavrichesky on the Day of the Baptism of Russia

On the Day of the Baptism of Russia, the Artek members of the Azure children's camp visited the Chersonesos Tavrichesky museum-reserve in Sevastopol. It was here, in Chersonese, in 988 Prince Vladimir accepted Christianity. In the historical place the guys visited thematic excursions and gained a lot of new knowledge.

A visit to "Chersonesos Tavrichesky" is an opportunity to touch the great history of Russia. During the theatricalized excursion "From Paganism to Christianity" the guys "met" with different historical personalities. Prince Vladimir, Apostle Andrew, Constantine Philosopher told the Artek students about the history of the spread of Christianity in the Crimea. The children also got acquainted with the annals of the choice of Faith, the baptism of Prince Vladimir and the Baptism of Russia.

Interactive excursion "The Tale of the Baptism of Russia" was devoted to the starting point of Russia, its spiritual origin, the personality of Prince Vladimir, the prerequisites of baptism, and also included a story about the alleged place of the holy font.

In addition to interesting excursions, the Artek students took part in a rich concert program "Live and Glory, Holy Russia!". Children saw the performance of the ensemble "Play, Harmon!", folk song and dance ensemble "Rus" and ensemble "Volga Gusliars".

Another surprise for children from the organizers of the event - various thematic master classes. The children visited the jewelry workshop, tried their hand at making glass beads, clay toys, toys made of bald, textile toys, bracelets made of beads, gingerbread and much more. The art-alley "The Road to the Temple", the entertainment program "Molodetskye Amusements" - a tale of how Prince Vladimir gathered his retinue!" and other activities gave many impressions to Artek residents.

"I was very interesting, the actors told everything wonderfully. We visited different locations, learned a lot of new things," said Egor from Abkhazia.

"We were told about the traditions and customs of Chersonesos, the theatricalized tour I especially liked. I knew that it was here that the Baptism of Prince Vladimir took place and it was my dream to visit this place. And now my dream has come true. Thank you very much to the guides, actors for this event", - shared Varvara Yasenkova from Belgorod region.

Artek employees also took part in the event and were able to touch the great history of Russia.
