On August 2, as part of the Artek Gathers Friends International Forum, a round table "Friends of Russia Club" is being held at the Livadia Palace. Children from different countries will discuss the achievements of Russian diplomacy, its history and modernity, hold a dialogue of cultures as a basis for mutual understanding and cooperation, and talk about cooperation between public organizations and movements of children and youth. Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, sent his greetings to the participants of the event, which united Artek students from 52 countries, organizers and guests.

Dear friends!

I am glad to welcome the participants, organizers and guests of the "Club of Friends of Russia" round table in hospitable Yalta within the framework of the Artek Gathers Friends forum.

It is symbolic that you are meeting in Livadia Palace, the venue of a landmark international conference. In February 1945, the anti-Hitler coalition allies managed to overcome their differences. To bring the Great Victory closer, as well as to lay the foundations of the post-war order. Its cornerstone was the United Nations, which still plays a central coordinating role in world affairs.

Today, when the situation in the world remains extremely tense, Russia's diplomacy is making every effort to improve it. Russia is consistently promoting in international relations the enduring values of truth and justice, equality and mutual respect, solidarity and cultural and civilizational diversity. I am pleased to note that this approach enjoys the broadest support of the countries of the Global East and South, where about 85% of the world's population lives.

At the same time, it is important that the daily hard work of my diplomatic colleagues to maintain an atmosphere of friendship, trust and mutual understanding in the international arena be complemented by interaction through public and people's diplomacy, including its youth component.

I assume that your meeting will contribute to this necessary task. Moreover, it is based on the unique and inimitable philosophy of international children's friendship inherent in the Artek camp. I know that active, not indifferent representatives of the younger generation from different parts of Russia and other countries have gathered here. All those who do not rest on their laurels, strive to improve themselves, learn new things, invent and implement joint endeavors.

I am sure that the round table will be held in an informal way, will allow to exchange personal experiences, make new friends, as well as, of course, to get acquainted with the unique historical and cultural heritage of Crimea, admire the diversity and beauty of its natural landscapes.
