The international camp session at Artek ended with the musical performance "The House of My Heart"
The 8th shift "Artek, Add to Friends" ended in the International Children's Center. It was bright, intense, united young representatives from 52 countries and showed how to live in peace and harmony. Children from different continents gathered at the Artek Arena to once again appeal to each other to be friends, dream, create, love and make the world brighter.
At the "Meeting Before Parting", the final shift, every Artek participant took part in the musical performance "Home of My Heart" dedicated to love for the Motherland. A grandiose action unfolded on the big screen and the Artek Arena. More than three thousand children from all Russian regions and foreign countries were able to admire the beauty of Russia, its vastness and nature; learn about its happy and sad moments; admire the heroic and courageous people, and realize that Great Russia, like the heart, is one! The decoration of the evening was the performance of the Artek Great Children's Choir under the direction of Georgy Zhuravlev, the chief conductor of the Victor Popov Great Children's Choir.
Addressing the children, Konstantin Fedorenko, Director of Artek International Children's Center, said: "21 days is a small Artek life. Together with you all these days we tried to live according to the Artek laws: not to offend the younger, to listen to the older, to love our Motherland and to be friends. I am sure that the friendship, which appeared on this shift, you have kept for many years. Today we have with us guys from 89 subjects of the Russian Federation and from 52 other countries. Exactly 40 years ago, the most famous girl in the world - Samantha Smith - came here from America. It was in Artek that she realized that children from different countries want to be friends. During these three weeks, I am sure you have learned what Artek friendship is and learned to do great things together. Remember, only together we can do a lot. In unity is our strength!"
From the main stage of the children's center the Peace and Friendship Manifesto was read out, which was adopted at the round table "Club of Friends of Russia" - the main event of the International Forum "Artek Gathers Friends". In it, children from different countries noted that Artek has always been a symbol of friendship for all children living on planet Earth. The young participants of the international shift expressed confidence that kindness and understanding live in every child, a sincere desire to contribute to the common destiny of the planet and change the world for the better. The children urged their peers to do their best "to overcome difficulties and barriers that separate adults on the way to the future of their children". Each participant of the shift promised to follow the Manifesto and pass from generation to generation the values that it carries.
Traditionally, at the "Meeting before parting" the main award of the children's center - the public recognition sign "Artek Star" - was presented. According to the results of the 8th shift of 2023 for high personal achievements, successful participation in the camp programs, respect of peers and Artek community "Artek Stars" were: Anastasia Kozlova, Penza region, Kuznetsk (d/l "Amber"); Maxim Antipov, Krasnodar region, Gelendzhik (d/l "Khrustalny"); Ediz Dogan Karakoc, Turkey, Istanbul, Atashekhi, Turkey. Istanbul, Atashehir (d/l "Morskaya"); Alina Galukh, Republic of Crimea, Yalta (d/l "Lazurny"); Kristina Kostrikina, Republic of Kalmykia, Elista (d/l "Kizurny"). Valery Gigolaev, South Ossetia (Alania), Tskhinvali (Rechnoi); Arina Shevchenko, Republic of Adygea, Maykop (Lesnoy); Lyubov Slipchenko, Republic of Crimea, Krasnoperekopsk (Krasnoperekopsk). Artek shift, filled with bright events, will long remain in the memory of the holders of the sign of public recognition "Star of Artek".
"I remembered our theater premieres, musical competitions. It was very interesting for me to watch the guys, how they try, rehearse. I was so immersed in all this Artek life that I don't want to leave here. I wish you guys, when you come here, be yourself, open up more, communicate, you don't need to pretend to be someone. Just enjoy the fact that you are here, from yourself, from the people who surround you", - wished the future Artek residents Kristina Kostrikina, Republic of Kalmykia.
"During this shift I learned to communicate and get along with different people. In the profile I learned the marine business. Most of all I remembered the opening and closing of the final of the All-Russian contest "Big Change". During this shift Artek became for me a place I would like to return to. I wish the future Artek students to go to their goal and never give up," shared Maxim Antipov, Krasnodar Region, Gelendzhik.
"At Artek I learned to work in a team, to work hard, to respect every deed. I remember most of all the masses, the trip to Ayu-Dag and the trip to Sevastopol. "Artek" for me is the best camp in the world. I wish those children who want to come here to work hard on themselves, not to regret anything, to go to their goal and not to be discouraged," said Valery, South Ossetia, Tskhinvali.
The holiday was decorated with performances of talented young artists from the creative groups "Karunachki" and "Pralesachka" (Republic of Belarus), "Barvinok" and "Barvinchata" (LNR), "Pearl" (Uzbekistan), "Kaft" (South Ossetia), as well as the Big Children's Choir "Artek" under the direction of Georgy Zhuravlev, chief conductor of the Big Children's Choir named after V. S. Popov.
The shift ended with a touching Artek tradition - at the "Meeting before parting" the boys gave roses to the girls as a sign of friendship. The boys said goodbye to the children's center, to their new friends and promised each other to keep the friendship gained in Artek, to be faithful to the motto "an Artek resident today is an Artek resident always".
