The start of the international campaign “People of Artek” in the online format was held at the Russian House in Paris.

Alexander Alimov, Director of the Department for Multilateral Humanitarian Cooperation and Cultural Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, has spoken at the opening. “Last year I took part in the round table “Club of Friends of Russia” at the international Artek session in Crimea. This place is amazing. We are pleased to welcome France among the participants in the “People of Artek” campaign and look forward to seeing you in Russia. I’m sure you’ll like it,” he addressed the French schoolchildren.

The coordinator of the “World of Opportunities” project of the All-Russian political party “UNITED RUSSIA” Roman Romanov has told schoolchildren from France and their parents about the international campaign and wished future participants: “Plunge into the Artek atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding in order to carry this friendship throughout your life.”

The secretary-in-charge of the French competition commission, Tatyana Bokova, has demonstrated a presentation of the “People of Artek” campaign and has spoken about the rules of participation in the competition and upcoming tasks. The coordinator of cultural and educational projects of the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in France, Asya Ovchinnikova, has spoken about the outstanding French people who visited Artek.

“It is a great honor for me to take part in the international campaign “People of Artek”. Events like this are a great opportunity to build friendly relations all over the world,” said Emmanuel Leroy, Chairman of the French Commission of the campaign.

In the end of the event, participants were shown a video message from a student of the French Lyceum Alexandra, in which she has shared her impressions of the trip to Artek. She has spoken about the attentive attitude of the camp counselors to the students, interesting activities, delicious Russian food and has emphasized that the main lesson that Artek taught her was the ability to make friends.
