This year, 9 leaders from Tajikistan took part in the “People of Artek”contest. They conducted 12 “Artek lessons”. One of the leaders of Tajikistan said about his lesson and research about the Artek hero:
“During the lesson, I told the children about Artek camp and about a person from Tajikistan who visited it. At the beginning of the lesson, I talked about the history of the creation of this amazing camp and its geographical location. Then we all watched a video about Artek together. The guys watched the video with great interest, they really liked it. It was a discovery for the students that Artek is a whole complex of camps. Each camp is unique in its own way, each with its own history of creation. Everyone was also interested to know what bright, creative, unforgettable life Artek residents have.
In the second half of the lesson, I talked about a respected woman from the city of Tursunzade - Shamieva Firuza Zhuraevna. Firuza Zhuraevna is my dear aunt. In the eighties of the last century she visited Artek. This camp made a huge impression on her. I told the guys that my Aunt Firuza was very proud to visit such a wonderful camp. The camp changed her attitude towards life. Living in quiet Tursunzoda, she did not suspect that it was possible to live so interesting, bright, and active. After a trip to this camp, she began to strive to study “excellently” and take active part in the social life of her school.
I also realized that the whole world really needs Artek now, because there are a lot of wars and conflicts around. People have forgotten how to be friends, and the Artek International Children's Camp teaches chuldren to be friends, respect each other, appreciate different cultures, teaches them to do good deeds, makes people kinder, more active, stronger!” - Sardorbek Shamiev.
