In Belarus, more than 500 schoolchildren took part in the Contest this year.
Belarus has once again shown its active participation in the International Contest "People of Artek".
For several years now, Belarus has been among the most engaged countries in the Contest. Some participants join every year, while others take part for the first time this year — like Denis Sidorovich from Mogilev.
"I first heard about Artek two years ago when my sister won a competition and went to Crimea to the best camp on Earth. I was only 10 years old at the time, but I knew for sure that I wanted to learn how to sing, dance, write research papers—anything to become an Artek member. Since then, I have been waiting for my competition and my chance. 'People of Artek' is not just a competition for me to get into Artek; it's a very responsible and important event, as I share the 100-year history of Artek and tell about my older sister, who is an Artek member herself.
I approached the Artek lessons with all my heart. It was important to me that the kids from my school got excited about Artek just like I did. To accomplish this, I prepared a quiz about Artek, drew a Wish Tree where the kids could attach their cherished wishes on little pieces of paper. We watched a presentation about Artek together, tried on Artek caps and badges, listened to songs, and I shared how one can win a ticket to Artek. Everyone was really impressed by my sister's example, who, thanks to her talent, hard work, and determination, became an Artek member twice. Most importantly, there wasn't a single indifferent person left. Now we all want to go to ARTEK!
This year is special for Artek as it turns 100 years old. Maybe it will be a lucky year for me too, and I will get to proudly wear the title of an Artek member and become a part of its history."
