It is organized under the party project "World of Opportunities" as part of the "Club of Friends of Russia" program.
Before the trip to "Artek," 70 schoolchildren visited the Central Executive Committee of the party. These are children from Ireland, Jordan, India, Moldova, Egypt, Portugal, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Belarus. In Artek, they will be joined by children from five more countries: Armenia, Abkhazia, Ossetia, Turkey, and Uzbekistan.
"This year marks the 100th anniversary of 'Artek.' It is indeed a jubilee, a milestone. When we were Soviet schoolchildren, we always heard about 'Artek.' It was a dream that many aspired to. As you know, Russia is a land of opportunities. And we are very glad that United Russia helps turn your dreams into reality. After all, this is an opportunity to find new friends: creative, enlightened people from new countries and communities with whom you will likely share many stages of your life," said Alexander Sidyakin, head of the Central Executive Committee of United Russia, at the meeting.
Coordinator of the party project "World of Opportunities" Roman Romanov mentioned that in 2023, 69 children from 10 countries visited "Artek," in 2024, 78 children from 15 countries will go, and this year, already 91 children from 16 countries are going to the sixth, anniversary shift in "Artek."
He read a greeting from Boris Gryzlov, Chairman of the Supreme Council of United Russia, to those present.
"I am glad that the proposal from the United Russia party to hold the 'People of Artek' contest received broad support from both Russian organizations and our foreign colleagues. This is an important step towards further strengthening cooperation and expanding the 'Club of Friends of Russia.' The campaign looks to the future: it helps to create and protect our common peaceful and just future. It helps preserve our shared historical memory and historical truth," reads the greeting.
According to Boris Gryzlov, the history of "Artek" and the Russian children's movement is a story of friendship and solidarity, of sports and culture.
"These are new meetings and joyful events that are never forgotten. It is invaluable experience of collaborative work, shared achievements, and victories. The famous motto 'To struggle, to seek, to find, and not to yield' fully applies to 'Artek' and the Artek community. We will do everything to ensure that the story of 'Artek' continues honorably, so that the people of 'Artek,' the people of Russia, our compatriots and friends of our country live peacefully, decently, and happily," he concluded.
At the meeting, they summarized the results of the campaign and discussed proposals for its development.
The event was attended by Igor Chaika, Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, and foreign parties.
In addition, on that day, an evening bus tour of Moscow was held for the winners of the contest.
Recall that the international campaign "People of Artek" was initiated by United Russia in 2023 and is conducted under the party project "World of Opportunities" within the framework of the "Club of Friends of Russia." Russian and foreign schoolchildren aged 12-17 can participate. Winners get the opportunity to visit the world-famous camp.
