The international contest "People of Artek" will continue in 2026

The international "People of Artek" competition, which brings together participants from around the world at the camp, will continue. United Russia Chairman Dmitry Medvedev announced this during a public reception.

During the reception via videoconference, a participant in the international "People of Artek" contest addressed Medvedev. According to the Indian participant, the camp exceeded all expectations—the nature, history, and kind people made this place special. In conclusion, the young man asked for the continuation of the party's "World of Opportunities" project, which includes the "People of Artek" campaign.

"We will definitely continue this 'People of Artek' project," the party chairman said. "We will make every effort to ensure that those who visited Artek are a special group, bound by bonds of friendship and brotherhood for decades to come," Medvedev added.

According to him, friendships forged in the camp last a lifetime. "Many people who visited Artek at different times over these hundred years later became friends." Some of them held positions of responsibility in their countries, and this helped them establish contacts not only with each other but also between peoples and between countries," Medvedev concluded, expressing hope that things will continue to develop along similar lines.

The party chairman recalled that Artek celebrates its centenary in 2025. The camp opened on June 16, 1925. Artek quickly became the hallmark of the Soviet Pioneer movement. After Crimea's reunification with Russia in 2014, the children's center, which consists of nine camps, became federal property. The center hosts over 40,000 children annually.
